Coaches, Chaperones, Athletes / players and Churches
Serving is our passion and what we do best.
But we all know passion is just the beginning. You need resources, expertise, and many hands to ensure things run smoothly, safely and effectively.
COACHES / SCHOOLS
Coaching is a calling
A coach can make or break a team - their guidance and wisdom can shape victory or failure. It’s a job that demands many of the same sacrifices made by the athletes – the early mornings, long hours, physical endurance, and strength of character – but it plays out on the sidelines, and rarely sees the podium. Coaching is the best job there is, but it can run you dry, leave you flat, even burnt out and uninspired. The best coaches need coaching too.
Running on empty?
SCAS offers various programs, courses, and materials to support and serve coaches.
Sport Ministry courses
SCAS, in partnership with the international 3D Institute, comes alongside coaches to help meet the growing professional development needs of the international coaching community. The 3D Coaching Course for Certification addresses most of these needs.
There are also other courses / resources available: Discipleship (Engage/Equip/ Empower), 360 Coach, etc.
CHAPERONES
All of the passion but not enough hands?
We bring the hands and the know-how to fill the gaps for you.
We serve at tournaments like the Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival, Grey u/14 Rugby Festival and Cravenweek every year, as well as other outreaches and events. Our chaperones serve the teams, engaging intentionally to build strong relationships, and ensuring everything runs smoothly and on time.
We are developing a nationwide system of volunteers and coordinators to be involved in our various programs provincially and nationally. In addition to the current programs, we want to be involved in many more sports tournaments, outreaches and programs, but we need more hands and feet.
ATHLETES / PLAYERS
Any athlete will tell you that sport is much more than physical.
Yes, you need strong muscles, agile joints and a fit heart – but you also need something less tangible, though just as real. To run faster and jump higher, to improve and play as a team, to endure under pressure and come back from injury – to win – you need focus, mental toughness and an unwavering sense of purpose.
Discover with fellow athletes what it means to glorify God through your sport. SCAS offers workshops, chaperone training and SCAS “Huddles” (small groups) – where we share God’s word and community.
CHURCHES / YOUTH
Passionate about God?
So are we.
At SCAS we use chaperones, sports ministry and camps to spread the gospel – to engage the spirit through the body. Because sometimes, action speaks louder than words.
